The UK Obesity Research Institute (UK-ORI) is a major research investment designed to establish an internationally recognised institute dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of obesity and its associated health conditions.
The institute will conduct mechanistic biomedical research to investigate the biological causes of obesity and related cardiometabolic diseases. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, the programme aims to overcome critical scientific challenges and generate evidence that informs innovative prevention and treatment strategies.
The institute will be led by an experienced Director supported by a leadership team responsible for developing and delivering a high-impact research programme while fostering an inclusive and collaborative research environment.
