Ulster PhD Studentships Competition Requirements
- Applicants must hold or expect to obtain a First-Class or Upper Second-Class Honours degree in a subject relevant to the proposed PhD research.
- Applicants with equivalent qualifications may also be considered, such as a Lower Second-Class Honours degree plus a Master’s degree with Distinction.
- In exceptional cases, relevant professional experience equivalent to an Honours degree may be considered as an alternative to academic qualifications.
- Applicants who already hold a doctoral degree are not eligible.
- Applicants who have been registered for a PhD or another doctoral research programme on a full-time basis for more than one year, or the part-time equivalent, are not eligible, regardless of the funding source.
- Applicants must provide evidence of English-language proficiency.
- Applications are assessed competitively based on qualifications, skills, experience, and research interests.
