UNICEF Aotearoa’s Young Ambassador Programme offers a platform to amplify your influence on the issues that matter, both locally and globally. We aim to empower young people to champion their internationally recognized rights here in Aotearoa.
Benefits of UNICEF Aotearoa’s Young Ambassador Training
Every year, the training support up to eight Young Ambassadors aged 17-24 across the country, empowering them to speak up for the next generation. As a Young Ambassador, you will:
- Engage Nationally and Globally: Travel across New Zealand to connect with other young people and understand their perspectives while representing your community and culture.
- Receive Specialist Training: Benefit from expert training and extensive support in youth engagement to hone your advocacy skills.
- Access Media Training: Learn to be a confident spokesperson and engage with various media platforms. All travel expenses will be covered as part of your role.
- Participate in Government Relations: Get the chance to interact with ministers at Parliament to raise important issues and amplify the voices and dreams of rangatahi in Aotearoa.
- Receive Advocacy Training: Gain specialized training to become an effective advocate and lobbyist, learning to navigate the NZ Government and enact real change for young people.
- Access Networking Opportunities: Connect with decision-makers, business leaders, politicians, and fellow young advocates within the national and global youth sector.
UNICEF Aotearoa’s Young Ambassador Training Requirements
Anyone between 17-24 and based in New Zealand can apply.
