About United Nations International Labour Organization (ILO)

Opportunity Details

High caliber graduate/postgraduate students and recent graduates wishing for a “hands-on” learning experience in disciplines connected to the ILO’s mission and activities can choose from a variety of internship options through the ILO’s internship program. Their internship program’s goal is to expose trainees to ILO everyday work over the course of three to six months.

The ILO publishes the Internship Roster, a call for applications, two or three times a year. After the application period closes, departments seeking interns for a specific roster period can view the profiles of eligible candidates. Because of this, internships can start on the first or fifteenth day of any given month.

Benefits of United Nations International Labour Organization (ILO)

The Internship Program of the International Labour Organization allows bright persons to:

  • Applying ILO principles, programs, and tactics and involving people directly in Office work will raise awareness of critical issues around the world.
  • Acquire hands-on experience with the ILO that is pertinent to their field of study.
  • There aren’t any application fees.
  • Your payment will come in each month.

Note: Pleas keep in mind:

  • When conducting an internship at the ILO, the intern or the organization providing funds for him or her is exclusively in charge of covering the costs associated with travel, a passport, a visa, health and accident insurance, lodging, and other living expenses.
  • In the event that an intern is not supported by a corporation (university, government, or other), the ILO will give them a stipend to cover basic living expenses.
  • Internships are not available to members of the direct family of ILO officials. Moreover, candidates who have participated in the internship program or held ILO work in the past are not eligible.
  • Please be aware that the ILO is not liable for any expenses associated with illnesses or accidents that occur during the internship. For the duration of your internship at the duty location, you are responsible for obtaining your own health and accident insurance.
