Opportunity Details
United Nations OHCHR Minorities Fellowship Program 2026 is a fully funded training program run by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). Designed for human rights defenders who belong to national, ethnic, religious, or linguistic minority groups.
Return economy class ticket to Geneva.
Basic health insurance during the program.
Stipend to cover modest accommodation and living expenses.
Applicants must belong to a national, ethnic, linguistic, or religious minority group.
Indigenous applicants should apply to the separate Indigenous Fellowship Programme.
Formal education is not required if relevant experience is demonstrated.
Must be able and willing to train others in their community after returning.
Good working knowledge of the program’s language is required.
Candidates should be nominated and supported by their organization/community, ideally one that:
Represents minority issues.
Has membership within the minority group.
Undertakes work related to minority issues.
Is composed of persons belonging to minorities.
