The Reham Al-Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship is a flagship initiative by the United Nations aimed at supporting early-career journalists from developing countries and economies in transition.
Selected fellows gain exclusive access to high-level UN engagements and media briefings. The program typically includes:
Participants also develop practical journalism skills while covering real-time global events and discussions.
The RAF Fellowship targets young, motivated journalists who demonstrate strong potential in international reporting.
Ideal candidates:
Are early-career journalists working in print, digital, radio, or television
Come from developing countries or economies in transition
Show a clear interest in international affairs and multilateral diplomacy
Have a proven record of journalistic work and impact
You will need to submit the following along with the application form:
At least five (5) work samples related to the UN and/or its priority issues published in the last 6 months. These can be submitted in your native language.
Copy of your passport/national ID.
Your CV in English.
Two reference letters.
