About University of Cambridge Lauterpacht Centre for International Law - Brandon Research Fellowship

The Lauterpacht Centre provides a base for research in Cambridge for legal practitioners and academics from around the world. The Brandon Fellow will be welcomed as part of the community of visiting scholars at the Centre.Whilst in Cambridge, visiting scholars will have the opportunity to meet with other researchers in their field and are encouraged to participate fully in the activities of the Centre, including the Friday lectures and the work-in-progress seminars of the visiting fellows/scholars.

• The Fellowship will be to a maximum value of £5,200 (GBP).

University of Cambridge Lauterpacht Centre for International Law - Brandon Research Fellowship Requirements

• Candidates for the Brandon Fellowship must be fluent in English and at least one of French, German or Spanish.
• Candidates must specify a project on some aspect of public or private international law or international arbitration on which they will work while resident at the Lauterpacht Centre.
• The Fellowship is intended to cover a stay of at least once acceptance period of 11 13 weeks (term) at the Lauterpacht Centre between September 2026 and September 2027
• This is a post-graduate research fellowship. Persons currently enrolled in PhD programs (in the UK or elsewhere) are not eligible to apply unless their final thesis has been submitted prior to the closing date for applications.

You will need to send:

(1)    a completed application form including outline of proposed research;
(2)    Curriculum vitae (maximum 4 pages);
(3)    Two letters of reference sent by the referee to [email protected] (please only send as pdf and not password protected).
