Opportunity Details
The Baden-Württemberg Early Career Rescue Fellowships 2026–2028. Introduces a funded two-year research fellowship program in Germany designed to support early career researchers (1–7 years postdoc) whose work has been disrupted or restricted due to political pressures in the USA.
Employment contract for 24 months with a monthly salary up to €6,000 (pre-tax, pre-social contributions).
Full access to research infrastructure, labs, and professional support.
Additional funding for research, cooperation, and mobility.
Travel compensation for inbound/outbound journeys.
Language courses, networking opportunities, and family support (housing, childcare, etc.).
Must hold a completed doctoral degree plus 1–7 years of postdoc experience.
Cannot hold a permanent professorship (tenure).
Must provide a statement of how research is threatened by U.S. political restrictions (e.g., travel bans, cancelled funding/projects).
Proof required: documentation of restrictions OR a referee’s letter confirming the threat.
Applicants must select preferred university and host researcher.
Proposed project must align with disciplinary and ethical standards of the host university.
