About University of Leicester Chevening Scholarship
Leicester Chevening Scholarship provides two fully funded UK master’s scholarships for students from Chevening-eligible countries to pursue a one-year taught Master’s at the University of Leicester starting September 2027. The scholarship covers tuition, living stipend, return airfare, visa and travel costs, and comprehensive medical insurance.
The scholarship is a joint initiative between the UK Government’s Chevening Programme and the University of Leicester. Selection is managed by the Chevening Secretariat and is based on academic merit, leadership potential, networking ability, career plan essays, references and interviews.

University of Leicester Chevening Scholarship Requirements
- Be citizens of a Chevening‑eligible country (160+ countries, excluding India).
- Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK 2:1 or 2:2.
- Have at least two years of work experience (≈ 2,800 hours, including voluntary work).
- Apply to three different UK Master’s programmes and secure an unconditional offer from at least one.
- Commit to returning to their home country for two years after completion.
