About University of Otago - Bamforth Postgraduate Scholarship
The Bamforth Postgraduate Scholarship supports postgraduate research into the history, literature, and culture of Scotland, as well as the influence of Scottish migration to New Zealand and beyond. This scholarship is offered by the University of Otago and provides a stipend and tuition fee waiver for domestic Master’s and PhD students.

- NZ$18,204 stipend per annum plus domestic Master’s tuition fee waiver (excludes student services fee)
- NZ$34,128 stipend per annum plus domestic PhD tuition fee waiver (excludes student services fees)

- Applicants must be obtaining their first master’s or doctoral qualification
- Applicants must be domestic students
- Applicants must be undertaking research related to Scotland
