About UNOOSA-Kyutech MEXT PNST Fellowship in Japan
The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the Government of Japan in cooperation with the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) have established a United Nations/Japan Long-term Fellowship Programme on Nano-Satellite Technologies for nationals of developing countries or non-space-faring nations. The Programme will provide extensive research opportunities in nano-satellite systems through the use of the nano-satellite development and testing facilities available at Kyutech.

- A monthly stipend of 144,000 JPY per month for 2 to 3 years study period provided by MEXT to cover living expenses such as housing, food and local transport.

UNOOSA-Kyutech MEXT PNST Fellowship in Japan Requirements
- Applicants must be nationals of developing countries or non-space-faring nations (nations without significant space technology or space launch capabilities).
- Candidates must be officially nominated by their home institutions.
- Similarly, they must be born on or after 2 April 1991.
- Applicants should hold the necessary academic and professional background relevant to the fellowship programme.
- Candidates seeking a master’s degree should have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an engineering related field.
- Applicants seeking a doctoral degree should have a master’s degree (or equivalent) in an engineering related field.
- Moreover, degrees in other technological disciplines may also be considered by the Selection Committee.
- Candidates should be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the fellowship to support the professional and space-related development of their home country.
