US-UK Fulbright Commission Scholar Award Requirements
- Be a UK citizen. We also welcome candidates from British Overseas Territories.
- Hold a PhD in a subject relevant to the award or have equivalent relevant professional degrees (e.g. medicine or law) or experience in the field.
- You are not eligible if you are a dual US-UK citizen, US Green Card holder, or are resident in the US at the time of application.
Application Date and Process
- Choose an award to apply for from the available Scholar Awards.
- Review the UK specific application information: eligibility criteria, UK-specific application instructions, terms and conditions, and privacy notice.
- Complete an online application including biographical information, academic and professional accomplishments, Fulbright project plans, details of US institution affiliation, and three referee nominations.
- Upload required documents: scanned passport photo page, CV, letter of invitation from prospective US institution, and creative writing or artwork sample (if applicable).
- Complete a separate online supplemental form via the US-UK Fulbright Commission Supplemental Form.
- Arrange separately with your chosen US host institution; a confirmed host affiliation is required to receive the grant.
- Review the application checklist to ensure all requirements are submitted.
