The Varkey Foundation Global Schools Prize 2025 is a $1 million international award created to honor exceptional schools worldwide. Founded in 2025 by education philanthropist Sunny Varkey,which complements the Global Teacher Prize and Global Student Prize, forming a trilogy that celebrates teachers, students, and schools.
Ten category winners each receive $50,000.
One extraordinary school wins the Global Schools Prize and $500,000 to scale its impact.
Longlisted schools earn a Global Schools Prize Badge and join the Global Schools Network for collaboration and professional development.
Open to all government-run and privately funded schools teaching students up to age 18, worldwide.
Schools can apply to multiple categories.
