Benefits of Wageningen Excellence Scholarship

- If selected, you will receive one NL Scholarship of €5,000. The selection committee may award a maximum of three NL Scholarships to one student, resulting in a total award of €5,000, €10,000 or €15,000.
Wageningen Excellence Scholarship Requirements
- You hold the nationality of at least one of the eligible countries listed and do not hold the nationality of an EU or EFTA country.
- You have submitted a complete application for an eligible on-campus MSc programme at Wageningen University & Research before 1 December 2026.
- You are unconditionally admitted to the MSc programme.
- You have a high GPA of 80% or higher. A First Class Honours BSc graduation or equivalent is required.
- You are a citizen of an African country. (ASP specific requirement)
- Preference is given to students who have not obtained a master’s degree yet. (ASP preference)
- To be eligible for NL Scholarship you must have a GPA of 80% or higher and have conditional or unconditional admission to an eligible on-campus MSc programme at WUR and not have previously participated in a degree programme in the Netherlands.
Application Date and Process
- Submit a complete application for an eligible on-campus MSc programme at Wageningen University & Research before 1 December 2026.
- Meet the English language requirements before 1 December 2026 and upload official test results as part of your Master’s application.
- Have completed your Bachelor’s degree before 1 December 2026 and upload your Bachelor’s diploma as part of your complete Master’s application before this deadline.
- Some scholarships are based on invitation; if invited you will be informed by email and may be asked to participate in the final selection procedures (for example ABF and ASP selection procedures).
- Eligible NL Scholarship candidates who are conditionally or unconditionally admitted will automatically be invited to apply; if invited you must submit your scholarship application before 1 May 2027.
