The ACHIEVE Training Program is designed for early-career researchers developing research careers in global health, implementation science, dissemination and implementation research, and data science.
The programme helps researchers develop the skills needed to move evidence-based health interventions from research settings into real-world practice.
Eligibility differs depending on whether the applicant is based in the United States or one of the specified African countries.
US-Based Applicants
US applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be a postdoctoral professional within six years of completing a terminal degree such as MD, PhD, PharmD, ScD, or DrPH.
Alternatively, be an advanced pre-doctoral candidate who has completed at least two years of coursework and passed qualifying examinations.
Be a US citizen, non-citizen national, or legal permanent resident.
Demonstrate research excellence and strong potential for an academic research career.
Commit to working in a lower-middle-income country for 12 months.
Applicants From African Partner Countries
Applicants from the following countries may apply:
Ghana.
Kenya.
Rwanda.
Sierra Leone.
South Africa.
Uganda.
They must:
Be early-career researchers.
Have completed a terminal degree such as a PhD or MBChB.
Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries.
Demonstrate research excellence.
Demonstrate potential for continued research development.
Commit to spending 1–3 months at a US-based partner institution.
