The Wells Mountain Initiative Scholars Program is a needs-based international scholarship designed to support students from developing countries pursuing post-secondary education in their home country or another developing country. The program combines financial assistance with a strong emphasis on academic performance, leadership, and community service.
The scholarship may be used for the following education-related costs:
• Tuition and academic fees
• Books and study materials
• Living expenses
• Transportation related to studies
This is a partial scholarship and is intended to supplement other sources of funding.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
• Be 35 years old or younger
• Be pursuing their first undergraduate degree
• Study in their home country or another developing country
• Demonstrate strong academic performance
• Show a clear commitment to community service
• Require partial financial assistance to continue studies
• Plan to live and work in their home country after graduation
Who Is Not Eligible?
The following applicants are not eligible:
• Students planning to study in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, or Western Europe
• Family members of WMI staff or current WMI scholars
• Students pursuing second degrees or postgraduate studies

Prepare a recent personal photograph
Write a personal statement describing your background
Write a personal statement explaining the relevance of your chosen field of study
Prepare an essay outlining a community service project, including:
– Clear objectives
– Detailed budget
– Monitoring and evaluation indicators
Secure two recommendation letters from individuals familiar with your academic and personal qualifications
Collect official transcripts from secondary and tertiary institutions
Include grading keys and national exam results where applicable
Review all documents carefully and submit the application online
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
