About Wiki Loves Earth Cameroon Photography Competition

Wiki Loves Earth is an international photography competition dedicated to documenting and promoting the natural heritage of participating countries through Wikimedia projects, particularly Wikimedia Commons. The initiative encourages contributors to upload original photographs of protected natural areas, biodiversity, wildlife, and ecosystems under free licenses that allow global reuse.The Cameroon edition of the competition will take place from June 1 to June 30, 2026, providing an opportunity for photographers and nature enthusiasts to showcase the country’s environmental richness while supporting open knowledge and conservation awareness.

Benefits of Wiki Loves Earth Cameroon Photography Competition

Prizes will be awarded to the 3 best photos:

• National Award

The winners of the prize at the Cameroon level will win the following endowments:

• A gift voucher worth 100,000 FCFA;
• A gift voucher worth 75,000 FCFA;
• A gift voucher worth 50,000 CFA francs;

• Additional Price
• The best participant (who has put more images in quantity and quality will receive a gift voucher worth 25,000 FCFA

Wiki Loves Earth Cameroon Photography Competition Requirements

By participating in Wiki Loves Earth in Cameroon, you contribute to:

• Creation of an image bank under a free license allowing the whole world to discover the richness of Cameroon's biodiversity;
• Popularization of protected areas, their fauna and flora in order to encourage the protection of biodiversity in Cameroon;
• Involvement of image professionals in the creation of royalty-free content on Cameroon.

Wiki Loves Earth in Cameroon is about promoting photos of biodiversity.
