About WHO Internship
The WHO Internship 2026 in Switzerland offers a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in global health emergencies. This paid internship is based in Geneva and focuses on medical countermeasures for epidemic and pandemic preparedness.

WHO Internship Requirements
- Have completed at least three years of an undergraduate degree program of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution prior to commencing the assignment
- Be enrolled in a course of study leading to a formal qualification in medicine, biology, bioinformatics, microbiology, virology, biochemistry, medical sciences, information sciences, statistics, public health or related field
- Applicants who have already graduated may qualify if they apply within eighteen months after completion of their formal qualification
- Expert knowledge of English is essential
- Intermediate knowledge of French or other UN languages is desirable
- Experience in scientific research and writing, statistical analysis, modeling and/or drafting reports
- Experience in public health, emergency preparedness, infectious diseases and pharmaceutical measures through academic work or research
- Field and/or developing country experience is desirable
