Opportunity Details
The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative aims to improve access to outdoor recreational areas, promote safe and responsible OHV use, and contribute to the sustainability and conservation of recreational lands. The program provides funding to nonprofit organizations and associations that manage or enhance trails, staging areas, and outdoor recreation infrastructure.
Yamaha provides funds to support projects that align with OAI’s mission.
Eligible applicants include:
Non-profits or tax-exempt groups (clubs, associations)
Public riding areas (local, state, federal)
Outdoor enthusiast associations & land conservation organizations
Communities interested in OHV access and conservation
Applications are reviewed quarterly, with awards given to deserving projects.
Nonprofit or tax-exempt organizations operating in the United States
Projects benefiting U.S. Forest Service properties must be administered through partnerships with local or state OHV associations
Applicants must provide endorsement from a local Yamaha dealership
Organizations may apply each quarter, but only one grant per calendar year is allowed
Confirm eligibility as a nonprofit or tax-exempt organization
Develop a project aligned with the focus areas of trail access, safety, and conservation
Obtain endorsement from a local Yamaha dealership
Prepare required documents: project description, budget, supporting materials, and verification of nonprofit status
Submit the application via online, email, or postal mail before the end of each quarterly deadline
Plan for biannual reporting, including progress summaries, expenditures, and photographic documentation
