Youth for Sustainable Policy (YSP) is a global youth-led initiative dedicated to empowering the next generation to engage critically with sustainability, governance, and public policy. The YSP Policy Brief Challenge 2026 is our flagship global writing competition, inviting youth to engage critically with climate and energy policy.Participants will produce a concise, research-backed policy brief evaluating real-world policy and proposing actionable improvements. This competition is aligned with YSP’s Research & Policy and Environment tracks, and serves as a pathway for publication, recognition, and advancement within YSP.

Participants must meet one of the following:
Aged 16–30
Recent graduates welcomeNo prior policy writing experience is required, from any field of study
Finished middle school, at minimum
