The Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) is a research institute and graduate school in Zanjan, Iran. Prof. Yousef Sobouti founded it in 1991 and served as its director until 2010. Dr. Rasoul Khodabakhsh was the director after that until February 2014, when Dr. HamidReza Mohammadi Khalesifard took over.
The IASBS provides advanced degrees (Master’s and above) in Mathematics, Physics, Geophysics, Biophysics, and Chemistry.
The Institute was named one of Iran’s top advanced research institutions. IASBS has also been named the best university in Iran in three of the 36 fields evaluated by QS, including physics, chemistry, and mathematics.IASBS
