Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) is a private interdisciplinary graduate school in Onna, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The university offers a five-year PhD program in Science. Over half of the faculty and students are from outside Japan, and all education and research is conducted in English. OIST is supported by public funds provided by the Japanese government. The government subsidy for OIST is divided into two parts: operations and facilities.
