About a16z Alpha Fellowship
The Alpha Fellowship places top early-career engineers into full-time roles at fast-growing a16z speedrun and Andreessen Horowitz portfolio companies. For future founders, we provide capital before a team or idea even exists.
Benefits of a16z Alpha Fellowship
Successful founders can receive:
- Up to $250,000 in investment
- An initial $20,000 grant to begin working full-time on their idea
- An automatic final interview opportunity for a16z speedrun
- Potential access to up to $1 million in investment through speedrun
- An eight-week, in-person fellowship experience
- Applicants who already know their prospective co-founders can have each person apply separately and identify the people they intend to build with.
a16z Alpha Fellowship Requirements
- The opportunity is particularly relevant to highly technical students and recent graduates within three years of graduation who are interested in software engineering, artificial intelligence, technology startups and entrepreneurship.
- Candidates who want an established career pathway can pursue the Startup Track, while those interested in building their own company can consider the Founder Track.
