About AWF) Geospatial Leaders Fellowship
This fellowship targets young African professionals who are ready to transform spatial data into actionable solutions that address Africa’s most pressing conservation and sustainable development challenges. In 2026, six fellows will be selected to join this highly competitive and impact-driven programme.

AWF) Geospatial Leaders Fellowship Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be under 35 years old
- Be an African citizen based in one of the following countries:
Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda, DRC, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Senegal, Tunisia, or Kenya
- Hold a degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field
- Have at least two years of experience in GIS or the environmental sector
- Be currently employed in an organization with clear opportunities for GIS application
- Be actively engaged in conservation action, research, or policy
- Be based in a government, NGO, conservancy, research institution, or similar entity
