About AIIDEV Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme Cohort

AIIDEV Africa is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 Cohort of the Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme, a nine-month professional fellowship designed to advance the leadership capacity of emerging African professionals committed to sustainable development. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and seeks to strengthen the pipeline of skilled practitioners capable of driving measurable progress across the continent.
The programme addresses a critical developmental gap by providing structured mentorship to professionals seeking to translate commitment into strategic action. Through curated pairings with experienced sector leaders, participants gain access to practical insights, professional networks, and implementation frameworks essential for effective SDG advocacy and project execution.

Benefits of AIIDEV Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme Cohort

Fellows selected for the 2026 cohort will receive:

AIIDEV Africa SDGs Mentorship Programme Cohort Requirements

  • Prospective applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria:
  • Nationality & Age: Citizen of an African Union member state, aged 25–40 years.  
  • Academic Qualification: Hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution.  
  • Professional Experience: Possess at least two years of documented professional experience in sustainable development, or demonstrate substantive commitment through volunteer initiatives or community-led projects aligned with the SDGs.  
  • Commitment to SDGs: Exhibit genuine interest in and dedication to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals within the African context.  
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrate capacity for initiative, collaboration, and impact-oriented leadership.  
  • Availability: Commit to full participation throughout the seven-month programme duration, including virtual training sessions, mentorship engagements, and collaborative workshops.  
  • Language Proficiency: Possess strong command of the English language, as all programme activities will be conducted exclusively in English.  
  • Technical Capacity: Maintain reliable internet connectivity and access to appropriate digital devices to facilitate consistent virtual engagement.
