About Asia Gender Equality Fund

Initiated in 2023, with support from Fondation CHANEL, Gates Foundation, KKR and members of AVPN's Asia Gender Network, in Rounds one and two, they were able to provide flexible, multi-year funding to ten nonprofits across the Asia Pacific Region, working to improve economic outcomes for women and girls in the region.

About Round Three

Climate change is the defining challenge of our time, and women and girls bear the brunt of its impact. Existing gender inequalities are amplified, jeopardising women's livelihoods, health, and safety. Recognising this urgency, Round Three of the Asia Gender Equality Fund, supported by Gates Foundation, Foundation CHANEL, Minderoo Foundation and Target Foundation, is dedicated to mobilising bold and equitable investments towards gender-just climate action and interventions. These interventions will address the distinct challenges women face due to climate change and empower them to achieve economic security.

Selected grantees of the Asia Gender Equality Fund will gain access to:

The Fund is committed to supporting organisations in the region who are leading the charge for women's economic empowerment in the face of climate change.

Asia Gender Equality Fund Requirements

• Be a registered non-profit organisation operating within APAC
• Possess a well-defined plan of the solution with potential for scalability, feasibility and impact.
• Organisations must be able to provide 2 recent years of audited financial reports.

- Should NOT be the following:

• Religious organisations
• Included in the US or EU sanctions list, nor blacklisted by any UN or international agency

Impact Areas

You are eligible to apply if your work covers any one of these areas

The Fund is looking to support non-profit organisations that work in the following impact areas focusing on women and girls including:

• Building climate resiliency
• Enabling participation in the green economy
• Supporting those who have been affected by climate change and/or have high climate change vulnerability
• Advocacy for inclusion in green initiatives

If your organisation is working on multiple areas or other impact areas in the gender x climate nexus, you are also encouraged to apply.
