The Gasum Fund supports academic research that advances the transition toward a sustainable and low-emission energy economy.The fund operates through the Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion (TES) and focuses on addressing societal and environmental challenges related to energy production, energy systems, and climate change.
The fund provides up to €26,600 per year for full-time research.
The Gasum Fund primarily supports:
Doctoral researchers conducting full-time dissertation work in Finland
In exceptional cases, funding may also be granted to:
Master’s thesis students, provided that:
A detailed research plan is included
The applicant demonstrates a clear intention to pursue postgraduate studies
Research must be conducted primarily in Finland, although short research periods abroad are permitted.
Prepare a detailed research plan aligned with the Gasum Fund’s focus areas
Ensure the research is conducted in Finland
Obtain a recommendation letter from your supervisor or advisor
Submit the application via the TES online application portal
Address the application directly to the Gasum Fund
Applications submitted to TES that fall within the Gasum Fund’s scope may also be redirected to the fund for evaluation.
