The Christchurch Creative Communities Scheme (CCS) is a partnership between Creative New Zealand and the Christchurch City Council. It is designed to ensure that the arts are accessible to all New Zealanders by supporting grassroots projects that foster creativity at the local level.
Maximum Grant Amount: $6,000 per application.
The scheme is open to a broad range of applicants, provided they meet residency and geographic requirements.
Individuals: Must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
Groups: Includes incorporated societies, trusts, or informal collectives.
Location: All projects must physically occur within the Christchurch city or district boundaries.

Dance, Music, and Theatre
Literature and Visual Arts
Māori and Pacific Arts
Inter-arts and Multi-art forms (including Film)
Verify Project Timeline: Ensure your project has not started yet. The CCS does not provide retrospective funding.
Obtain Quotes: You must include accurate, written quotes for all goods and services you intend to purchase with the grant.
Declare All Income: List all potential revenue, including sponsorship, estimated ticket sales (box office), and in-kind support.
Address Criteria: Explicitly state how the project meets national Creative New Zealand goals and specific Christchurch community needs.
