Opportunity Details
CAN Europe’s Climate Action Engagement Fund is designed to empower grassroots and civil society organisations to drive meaningful climate action. By providing accessible financial support, the fund strengthens the participation of groups often excluded from traditional climate financing, fostering equity, inclusion, and social justice in climate initiatives across Europe and neighbouring regions.
Small Projects: €1,000 – €10,000
Large Projects: €10,000 – €100,000
Eligible Regions: European Union, Western Balkans, Türkiye
Eligible Activities: Public awareness campaigns, community outreach, advocacy, mobilisation of vulnerable groups, creative engagement strategies
Eligible applicants include:
Civil society organisations active in climate and social justice work
Grassroots community groups, including under-resourced or marginalised organisations
Organisations advocating for just transition, social inclusion, and equity in climate action
Develop a Project Proposal: Outline objectives, target communities, activities, expected outcomes, and alignment with fund priorities.
Select Funding Tier: Choose between small or large grant depending on project scale and needs.
Budget Planning: Include a clear, feasible budget with justification for requested funding.
Submit Application: Follow CAN Europe’s official submission process for evaluation and review.
Project Implementation: Execute activities while maintaining communication with CAN Europe and reporting on outcomes.
