The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering fellowships for five journalists from low- and middle-income countries to cover the Eighth Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Fellows will gain access to high-level discussions on climate finance, adaptation strategies, and environmental partnerships, receive mentorship from senior journalists, and get financial support to strengthen their reporting on environmental issues.

Mentorship from an experienced senior journalist
Opportunities to collaborate and exchange ideas with other fellows
To apply, candidates must:
Be a professional journalist working with an established media outlet
Represent a low- or middle-income country
Have experience reporting on environmental issues
Preferably have covered climate, biodiversity, or environmental financing
Have a good command of English
Be able to arrive in Samarkand by May 31, 2026 and participate throughout the Assembly week
