About Embassy of France in New Zealand - French Related Research Projects

The French Related Research Projects (F2RP) programme supports the participation in or development of scientific projects and academic events connected to France.

The funding opportunity is designed for researchers, students, institutions, and associations based in New Zealand who are developing research activities involving France, French institutions, French researchers, or France-related topics.

The programme encourages international research collaboration, knowledge exchange, and academic partnerships between New Zealand and France.

  •  The maximum grant per project is 10,000 NZD.

Embassy of France in New Zealand - French Related Research Projects Requirements

  • The proposal must be submitted by a New Zealand based researcher, student, institution or association, in either French or English.
  • The proposal is open to all academic fields including humanities, arts and social sciences, 
  • The project must focus on a France-related scientific project or event (conference, workshop, Summer school, research mission, research campaign…)
  • If the application concerns a conference the applicant must be accepted for an oral or poster presentation at the conference. The conference/summer school must be taking place before March 2027.
  • France related project means that either the project is carried out in France, involves a French researcher or a French institution, or the topic is connected to France (French language, literature, culture, political system, biodiversity...).
  • All type of expenses is eligible for funding, except researchers’ salaries.
  • Evidence of available co-funding is a plus.

  • Mandatory documents to be uploaded on the form are :
  • Applicant’s resume
  • Presentation of the project (3 pages max)
  • Bank details
  • Proof of acceptance to a conference or summer school when relevant
