About EMBL ARISE2 Fellowship
The EMBL ARISE2 Fellowship 2026 is a fully funded postdoctoral program for international researchers at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Europe. This three-year fellowship focuses on developing technologies, services, data systems, and infrastructure for modern biology, offering a unique alternative to traditional postdoctoral positions.

EMBL ARISE2 Fellowship Requirements
- Open to experienced researchers from around the world who hold a PhD by the application deadline
- Candidates who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis but have not yet officially received the degree may also be eligible
- Must demonstrate prior expertise in technology or technique development related to EMBL research infrastructures or services
- Previous EMBL affiliation cannot exceed 12 months during the three years prior to the application deadline
- Any prior EMBL connection must be disclosed
- The proposed project must create or enhance techniques or technologies that can benefit other researchers, with emphasis on FAIR data management, automation, user demands, and broader international transfer

Application Date and Process
- Fill out the ARISE2 application form using the official template
- Draft a project proposal including the Horizon Europe ethics self-assessment
- Contact participating EMBL group leaders to discuss project fit before submission
- Include a planned project associated with an EMBL supervisor
- Submit at least one reference by the deadline (up to three references may be submitted)
- Shortlisted candidates will participate in an online interview to showcase their research idea and professional achievements
