About GTY Youth Support Grant
The GTY Youth Support Grant addresses a critical and often underfunded area of peacebuilding: the transition of young people out of armed conflict and into constructive civilian roles.By funding education, skills development, and reconciliation-focused initiatives, the grant aims to break cycles of violence and strengthen community acceptance, resilience, and long-term peace.
Benefits of GTY Youth Support Grant
- This year, up to three selected individuals or organizations will be awarded up to $5,000 each. Additionally, each grant winner will receive one year of mentoring and networking support to help expand their efforts
GTY Youth Support Grant Requirements
- This grant accepts applications from anywhere in the world, and submissions are welcomed in languages other than English as well (French, Spanish and Arabic). If you're not comfortable with these major languages, please feel free to reach out. We are happy to discuss options with you. Language is simply a tool; what we truly want to understand are your ideas and passion for peace.
- Whether the projects are led by individuals or organizations, as long as they are related to YANSAG and contribute to conflict resolution and sustaining peace, they are eligible for consideration. If you believe your activities are relevant, we encourage you to apply.
- Examples of supported project include
- Projects aimed at providing education or skills training for young former combatants.
- Community-based reconciliation efforts aimed at reducing bias and creating reconciliation to help former combatants reintegrate into their communities.
- Projects aimed at encouraging combatants to disengage from non-state armed groups and accepting them in a community.
Other requirements:
- For Individuals: Those engaged in activities supporting YANSAG, including YANSAG themselves.
- For Organizations: Organizations engaged in activities supporting YANSAG, with a priority for grassroots projects over larger organizations.
- Applying for this grant requires prior registration with the GTY Partnership.
Application Date and Process
- To apply for the GTY Youth Support Grant, applicants must follow these steps:
- Register with the GTY Partnership
- Confirm eligibility as an individual or organization supporting YANSAG
- Develop a clear project proposal aligned with GTY’s focus areas
- Demonstrate how the initiative supports reintegration, reconciliation, or disengagement
- Submit the application in an accepted language through GTY’s process
