Ifakara Innovation Hub is accepting applications for its IIH-PDP Healthcare Innovation Campaign 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to click here to learn more about this opportunity and apply for it.
The PDP Incubation Program supports early-stage healthcare innovators in Tanzania by providing advanced prototyping facilities, expert mentorship, and structured business incubation. The program accelerates medical and health solution development, reducing early-stage barriers and enabling innovators to move from concept to real-world impact.
1. Advanced Prototyping and Technical Support
Participants gain access to purpose-built prototyping facilities that allow rapid design iteration, functional testing, and early-stage validation of healthcare solutions. Innovators receive continuous technical guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to functional prototype.
2. In-Kind Support and Resources
The program provides up to USD 3,000 in in-kind support, including access to specialized tools and equipment, engineering assistance, and product development infrastructure. This support significantly lowers the cost of early-stage innovation.
3. Expert Mentorship and Multidisciplinary Network
Participants benefit from a collaborative ecosystem of experts across healthcare and clinical practice, life sciences and biomedical research, engineering and makerspaces, regulatory and legal advisory, and business development and market entry. Each cohort receives tailored mentorship based on startup needs, such as clinical validation, manufacturing pathways, regulatory readiness, or commercialization.
The PDP Incubation Program is open to healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs, engineers and researchers, early-stage startups, and health practitioners and clinicians.
