About Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Fellows Program
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Fellows Program 2026 provides a fully funded opportunity for experienced public health professionals to pursue a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree while remaining employed with a U.S.-based collaborating organization. The Bloomberg Fellows supports part-time DrPH study with full tuition and fee funding and requires continued employment with the collaborator during the program.
The program is administered through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is tied to the Bloomberg American Health Initiative. Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Fellows Program Requirements
- Be currently based in the United States
- Be employed full-time by a qualifying collaborating organization
- Have their professional work based in the United States
- Work with an organization addressing one of the five Bloomberg American Health Initiative focus areas
- Apply for and gain admission to the Johns Hopkins DrPH program
- Hold an MPH or another relevant graduate-level degree by the time of matriculation
- Have at least three years of full-time professional experience in public health or a related field by December 1
- Demonstrate a clear connection between professional experience and chosen public health focus area
- Continue working with their collaborating organization during the fellowship
- Agree to the required post-graduation service obligation
Application Date and Process
- Step 1: Apply for the DrPH Program through SOPHAS and gain admission to the Johns Hopkins DrPH program
- Step 2: Apply to the Bloomberg Fellows Program by completing the fellowship application and collaborating organization forms
- Step 3: Coordinate with the collaborating organization to demonstrate commitment and continued employment
- Step 4: Complete and submit all fellowship and DrPH application materials before the December 1, 2026 deadline
