GAP is about making the arts accessible nationwide, strengthening cultural identity, and ensuring that creative projects enrich people’s lives at every stage.
Challenge America: fixed request of $10,000.
Other GAP applicants: $10,000–$100,000.
Local Arts Agencies (subgranting projects): $30,000–$150,000.
Requires 1:1 cost share (cash or in-kind).
Applicants must be:
Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) U.S. organizations.
Units of state or local government.
Federally recognized tribal communities or tribes.
Must have 5+ years of arts programming and an operating budget of at least $20,000 in the previous fiscal year.
Individuals, fiscal sponsors, for-profit enterprises, and state/regional arts agencies are not eligible.
Generally, only one application per organization per year.
