About NLSIU Reseracher Fellowships
The NLSIU Researcher-Fellowships 2026 is offered by the National Law School of India University. This is a prestigious full-time contractual opportunity designed to support law graduates with research experience in developing litigation skills training modules for the NLSIU Fellowships Programme. Selected candidates will receive commensurate with experience, within the range of ₹60,000-₹70,000 for a period of 1 year (extendable based on performance) while working on the Bengaluru campus.

NLSIU Reseracher Fellowships Requirements
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- hold a Bachelor's degree in law
- have 1-4 years of research experience (with a bachelor's degree) or a master's degree in any discipline
- have proven research activity, including at least one publication or equivalent output
- have excellent writing and editing skills across academic, policy, and public-facing formats
- have strong analytical, collation/synthesis, communication (written and oral), technical, and time-management skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master's degree in law
- 1+ years of litigation experience
Application Date and Process
I. Open call for applications
- An open call for applications will be published for the following research fellowships:
▪ Graduate Research Fellowship
▪ Post-Doctoral Fellowship
▪ University Research Fellowship
- The application process will include an open call for applications, shortlisting against established criteria and an interview by a selection committee constituted by the Dean (Research) and/or the Vice Chancellor.
- Details of the required application material will be mentioned in the application link.
II. By invitation
- University Research Fellowship may be by invitation along with an open call.
- Distinguished University Fellowship will be by invitation only.
- The Dean (Research) will invite recommendations from faculty and research staff on an annual basis. The Dean and Vice Deans (Research) shall shortlist from among these recommendations after reviewing their scholarship in relevant fields and recommend names to the Vice Chancellor for extending invitations.
