The Dutch Film Fund Shorts Grant Program supports emerging and experienced filmmakers in producing original, authentic short films, including fiction, documentary, and youth-oriented projects.
Grant Amount: Up to €65,000 per project
Additional Funding: Optional for a production coach if justified
Producers with professional experience through accredited film education or prior short film releases
Established in the Netherlands, EU, EEA, or Switzerland
Registered with the Chamber of Commerce
Students enrolled in vocational training are not eligible
Producers and directors must apply separately; one person cannot hold both roles
Prepare Film Proposal: Include story, style, budget, and timeline
Use the Official Budget Model: Required for transparency and consistency
Submit Online Application: Ensure all eligibility criteria are met
Optional Production Coach Funding: Include justification in the project plan
Maximum Projects per Round: Two submissions per producer
Completion Commitment: Film must be finished within 12 months in the Netherlands
