Opportunity Details
This initiative is designed to support projects that center food, cultural revitalization, and community-led economic development. Grants are available to help bring to life initiatives that reflect local knowledge, traditions, and the unique strengths of northern communities.
Regular Project Grants: $15,000–$35,000 for larger initiatives.
Small Grants: $1,000–$15,000 for modest or emerging projects.
Planning Grants: $1,000–$15,000 to help communities prepare for future projects.
Communities located in Northern Manitoba.
Community-led organizations or initiatives that reflect local traditions, knowledge, and strengths.
Projects should focus on one or more of the following:
Food sovereignty
Cultural revitalization
Community-driven economic development
The program emphasizes relationship-building over rigid eligibility rules.
Communities are encouraged to start conversations early to explore fit and receive guidance.
Proposals can be shared verbally or in writing, allowing for flexibility in how ideas are presented.
