With the overall aim of catalyzing Danish fundamental research impacting better health through knowledge, the purpose of the ‘Distinguished Investigator – Bioscience and Basic Biomedicine’ grant is to support leading professors, who propose to undertake novel and ambitious projects that will bring new and important insight into human health and disease.

Distinguished Investigator Grant Programme Requirements

  • Applicants must be professors (including MSO) not affiliated with Novo Nordisk Foundation research centres.

  • Must not exceed DKK 5 million in annual grant portfolio at project start.

  • Must contribute to pre-graduate teaching; clinical researchers are ineligible.

  • Research must be conducted at a Danish university, hospital, or non-profit institution.
