About PEAR Summer Research Program

Opportunity Details

Taking place from August 18 - 27 at Greensprings School, Anthony Campus in Lagos, the program brings together 30 students to build hands-on tech projects in teams using Raspberry Pi kits. Led by MIT students Tony Odhiambo and Emmanuela Ilok, PEAR aims to inspire a new generation of African problem-solvers through practical learning, mentorship, and innovation.

PEAR is fully funded, with all materials provided, and offers hands-on STEM experience, mentorship from MIT students, and a chance to build impactful tech projects.

PEAR Summer Research Program Requirements

  • Open to current senior secondary school students (SS1 - SS3/Year 10 - 11);
  • Should be able to commute to and from Greensprings every day (based in Lagos for the duration of the program);
  • Proficiency in high-school level math and physics;
  • Strong interest in STEM and problem-solving;
  • Commitment to attend all 9 days (9am-5pm daily), Sunday is free;
  • Enthusiasm for learning and collaboration.
