The Trust was established by a Deed dated 26 November 2021, by the Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation Incorporated. The Trust helps develop, promote and facilitate education and training within the infrastructure industry so as to increase the general and specific competencies which contribute to the effectiveness of employees within the industry. The Infrastructure Industry is defined as organisations that provide ‘the basic physical and organisational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings, roads, power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise.'
A maximum of $1,000,000 will be granted each calendar year.
Grants can only be made to organisations operating in partnership with The Energy and Infrastructure Industry Skills Board and are based within the infrastructure sectors of civil construction, three waters, energy and telecommunications.
Applicants must show relevant infrastructure industry support (such as from an industry association, large employers group or other industry body).
Grants are for projects, and not for funding of day to day expenditure, although this does not exclude operational costs involved in a project.
No single grant shall exceed $500,000.
Total grants to organisations that provide scholarships, grants or similar to individuals in vocational training on an infrastructure related qualification shall not exceed $150,000 in any calendar year.
