About Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University ADB-JSP
APU ADB Scholarship is a fully funded Master’s scholarship offered through Asia Pacific University in partnership with the Asian Development Bank. The APU ADB Scholarship 2027 supports students in development-related fields and covers major study costs for the September 2027 intake.
The scholarship is administered by Asia Pacific University (APU) and shortlisted applicants are forwarded to the ADB Scholarship Committee for final selection. APU accepts graduate applications and applicants must request the scholarship within the APU online application system.

Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University ADB-JSP Requirements
- Be a citizen of an ADB member country and a Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible country.
- Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
- Currently reside and work in their home country.
- Have at least two years of full-time work experience after obtaining a bachelors degree.
- Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written English communication skills.
- Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
- Not currently enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- In principle, not have a bachelors or masters degree obtained outside of their home country.
- Not pursuing a second masters degree.
- Have a family income that does not exceed US$50,000 per year and an individual income that does not exceed US$25,000 per year. If selected, applicants must submit a Certificate of Income.
- Intend to enroll at APU in September 2026.
Application Date and Process
- Applicants must first apply to APU via the online application system. APU is accepting applications for all graduate programs for the 2027 intake.
- Request this scholarship within the APU Online Application.
- Along with their application, applicants must upload a Certificate of Employment issued by their current employer/company.
- If the current employment duration is less than two years, a Certificate of Employment from the previous employer must also be submitted.
- Both certificates should clearly state the start and end dates of employment, as well as the monthly or annual income.
- Alternatively, the latest Income Tax Return can be submitted to verify the applicant's annual or monthly salary.
- APU will send the list of shortlisted applicants to the ADB Scholarship Committee. The final scholarship award results are decided by ADB-JSP.
