About Rotary International Yoneyama Memorial Scholarship
The Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship is a prestigious award for international postgraduate students residing outside Japan who intend to pursue Master’s or Doctoral degrees at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Japan. The scholarship provides continuous monthly financial stipends, travel cost reimbursements, and integration into an international network of Rotary members.
Benefits of Rotary International Yoneyama Memorial Scholarship
- Undergraduates 100,000 yen per month
- Master’s students 140,000 yen per month
- Doctoral students 140,000 yen per month
- Successful applicants may receive a subsidy of up to 250,000 yen toward travel expenses to Japan
- For April enrollment: Scholarship payment begins in April 2027
- For fall enrollment: Scholarship payment begins in October (or September) 2027
Rotary International Yoneyama Memorial Scholarship Requirements
- Applicants must have passed the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at N3 or above at the time of application
- Applicants must be overseas students scheduled to enroll in a Japanese university / graduate school
- Applicants have to find out and apply for Japanese universities / graduate schools by themselves before applying for this scholarship
- Applicants are requested to submit a copy of the application for admission for the university / graduate school
- Those who enroll in graduate schools are requested to submit a recommendation letter from a supervisor / professor of the applicants’ targeted graduate school
- Research students are not eligible
- If the applicant is rejected for admission to the issuing university / graduate school, they will lose eligibility for the scholarship
- Successful applicants must arrive in Japan prior to the designated month of admission
