The Inspiration Grant Program is designed to help young individuals grow their talents and achieve their potential. By offering financial support, the program targets development in sports, academic achievement, performing arts, and creative skills. The grant reduces financial barriers, enabling participants to pursue opportunities that enhance personal growth and skill development.
Maximum grant: £1,000 per applicant
Requests exceeding £1,000 may be considered only in exceptional cases
Funding covers costs directly associated with skill development or talent growth
Young people residing within Bernicia’s operating area, including:
Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle, Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland, County Durham, Hartlepool, Redcar, Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Darlington
Priority is given to:
Bernicia tenants
Residents in areas where Bernicia has a strong local presence
Applicants should not have received funding within the past three years (unless in exceptional circumstances)
Funding is not available for personal business ventures or general welfare support
Submit Application Online: Complete the online form; applicants receive a reference number and a copy of their submission.
Review: Community Foundation reviews applications and may contact applicants for additional information.
Decision: Bernicia Foundation trustees evaluate and finalize funding decisions.
Notification: Applicants are typically notified within ten weeks of the application closing date.
Monitoring & Reporting: Successful applicants must submit an end-of-grant report, including:
Impact of funding
Progress against objectives
Short evaluation of outcomes
