Support typically includes:
Tuition and academic fees (subject to placement)

Citizenship and Residency Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Be a South African citizen, or
Be a South African permanent resident with at least five years of permanent residency
The following applicants are not eligible:
Individuals residing in the United States at the time of application
Dual citizens holding U.S. citizenship
Academic Eligibility by Pathway
Eligibility depends on the chosen pathway;
Visiting Student Researcher (PhD):
Must be registered for a PhD at a South African university
Must remain registered locally for the full duration of the U.S. research stay
Master’s Degree Applicants:
Four-year bachelor’s degree, or
BTech degree, or
Three-year bachelor’s degree plus an honors degree
PhD Degree Applicants:
Must have completed a recognized master’s degree
