The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has opened nominations for the 2026 cycle of the Young Champions of the Earth Award. This global award honors young innovators who are developing bold, practical solutions to address urgent environmental challenges. The program supports ideas that promote sustainability, climate action, biodiversity protection, pollution reduction, and green economic development.
The 2026 Young Champions will receive:
US$10,000 in seed funding
Tailored mentorship from experts
Professional training and capacity-building support
Access to a global network of change-makers
Participation in high-level UN events
Travel to New York for a pitch competition
Be between 18 and 30 years old
Be from any country or background
Have actively pursued their environmental idea for at least six months
Demonstrate feasibility and commitment
Show measurable progress or proof of concept
