About Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency - Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship
The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship 2027 in Hong Kong supports outstanding Hong Kong students pursuing undergraduate studies abroad. This funded program honors the late Governor Sir Edward Youde and aims to develop future leaders for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council administers this scholarship. It provides financial support for Hong Kong permanent residents to study at premier global universities. Benefits of Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency - Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship
- Maximum scholarship amount is HK$280,000 each year.
- The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council may reduce the value based on actual university fees, necessary living expenses, and other awards held concurrently by the scholar(s) to fund their foreign study.
Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency - Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship Requirements
- Applicants must be permanent residents of Hong Kong.
- Candidates must have attained at least five (5) years of continuous full-time schooling in Hong Kong.
- Fulfill the admission and application requirements of their preferred universities abroad.
- Prove proficiency in English and Chinese, as well as a solid command of the language of instruction for their chosen study program.
- Applicants do not need to have received admission offers at the time of applying but must designate up to ten combinations of their chosen colleges and programs.
Application Date and Process
- All applications must be completed online at GovHK.
- Supporting paperwork and the signed declaration (Annex E) must be sent by mail or dropped off at the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council Secretariat.
- Candidates who get the short list are required to appear in person for interviews in Hong Kong between December 2026 and February 2027.
- It is anticipated that the chosen scholars will begin their studies in April 2027 or March 2028.
