Opportunity Details
The AHF can provide grants, subject to eligibility, to help with assessing the viability of a project, or to help fund development costs for historic building related regeneration projects based in Scotland.
Project Viability Grant (PVG)
Max: £15,000 | Avg: £8,000
Funds studies to assess potential building uses and conditions
Produces a Viability Report to support further funding applications
Rolling monthly basis; decisions in 6–8 weeks
Project Development Grant (PDG)
Max: £45,000 | Avg: £20,000
Supports costs of developing a viable project toward site work
Requires prior viability confirmation
William Grant Foundation Tailored Support Fund (TSF)
Max: £15,000 | Avg: £10,000
For projects that don’t fit other grant criteria
Prioritizes community-led, innovative, and socially beneficial projects
Supports emergency repairs, meanwhile uses, capacity building, and more
Projects must involve historic buildings in Scotland.
Priority is given to:
Buildings with redundant or at-risk status
Plans for reuse or change of ownership
Projects in areas of high multiple deprivation
Efforts to improve energy efficiency or environmental sustainability
Submit an Expression of Interest form
If eligible, receive an invitation to apply
Assessment takes 6–8 weeks for smaller awards, up to 3 months for larger ones
Feedback provided if unsuccessful
