About Arizona State Mastercard Foundation Scholarship
Arizona State Mastercard Foundation Scholarship 2027–28 supports African students pursuing selected full-time, on-campus master’s programmes in technology, innovation, engineering, data, computer science and sustainable development at Arizona State University. The focus is on Phase III: Innovation and Technology of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and aims to expand access to graduate education while building leadership and technical skills for social and economic development.
The scholarship is offered through the Arizona State University Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program and provides comprehensive financial and academic support, including tuition, accommodation, books, travel, medical expenses and leadership development. The programme is for the 2027–2028 academic year and strongly encourages applications from women, refugees and displaced persons, and people with disabilities.

Arizona State Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Requirements
- Be a citizen of an African country.
- Have earned a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution by August 2027.
- Have a strong academic record equivalent to at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Meet ASU’s English language proficiency requirements for graduate admission.
- Be between 18 and 33 years old on or before the application deadline.
- Demonstrate a record of leadership and service.
- Demonstrate a commitment to creating positive change in their communities.
- Must not have previously enrolled in or completed a graduate or master’s degree programme.
- Must not be enrolled in or begin another graduate or master’s programme while applying for this scholarship.
- Be able to relocate to and reside on ASU’s Tempe campus in Arizona, USA, for the duration of the programme.
